Although I have never spinned a T-Hawk, I have done the complete series of
full stalls, and find them to be normal in all regards. I have flown six
different aircraft from serial 78A0023 thru 82A0131, and have owned serial
78A0156 for the last year. My experience is over 29 years and 4,500 hours with
many hours in Champs, Cubs, 150's, etc.
Maybe part of the problem is the level of
experience. The value of having flown the old stick and rudder aircraft seems to
help when it comes time to decide if you are just along for the ride or making
the plane respond correctly. I for one think the PA38 is a superb modern trainer
if understood and flown with a medium amount of skill. I would like to see more
opinions from other interested T-Hawk pilots. PS, I must admit that I do not
intend to spin my plane, but it is not because I am afraid to, it is because I
have no desire to spin any airplane.
