War Bird
By John Sparks, (jcosparks@email.msn.com)
Silently climbing into the night
On a vampire's cape angled and black,
A stealth bird-of-prey shedding the light
Heads to the North,
The skies of Iraq.
Whispering soft, onward it flies
Over alien rivers, deserts, and plains
To engage the tyrant's murderous lies,
And to deny the demon
His ill-gotten gains.
Engines aglow, the small raptor soars,
Seeking its prize now hid in his cell,
Cowering below beneath closed doors
In the bowels of the earth,
The heart of his hell.
Sink if you will; your flesh is mine!--
God's hand to judge your wicked soul.
My bombs to drop, let the buzzards dine
On what bits are blown...
Outside the hole!
Go get 'em F117!
