   You say they are just a fuselage,
   Attached: a pair of wings,
   Connected to an engine -
   To ME they are living things.
   Each with her ways and fancies
   And gentle little whims
   I sense within my fingertips,
   My legs become their limbs. 
   And we are one together
   As we climb towards the sun,
   Happy with each other,
   Knowing we'll have fun.

   Through good or claggy weather,
   In sunshine or in rain,
   No matter what the problem
   They bring me home again.
   For there's a bond of friendship
   That no one can explain,
   Where there's a kindly pilot
   Who understands his plane.
