A bond is made between man and sky,
We cannot fight the feeling we get,
When he who flies does soar so high,
And all our life-long goals are met.
The golden bars we do adore,
Gleaming like the sun,
Emotions flog us so much more,
As we say 'now this is fun'.
We are among the lucky few,
Who grace the skies on silver wings,
Something we would forever do,
To hear the clouds, the heavens, sing.
For some this dream will last no more,
Among us earthly beings,
Yet somehow in yourself be sure,
No longer are they capped by ceilings.
Our heros now roam up in the sky,
Just inside heaven’s door
Given the eternal gift of flight,
The surly bonds they slip once more
Dedicated to any man or woman, who has been lost
while using their gift of wings. Is there any
greater gift in the world? Included in the
dedications, are the flight crew of the four
doomed airliners of September 11th, and all those
who suffer as a result of terror.
